New Activities

We are looking at Laughter classes and relaxation classes next and hopes to have these running very soon.

We are also starting a Chair based Activity training programme, which will run over the year and is available to anybody, who lives or works in Darnall. It will be aimed at people who work in Residential Homes, Carers, Luncheon Clubs, Smoking Cessation Nurses etc.

The course will provide training and ideas on how to put together a Chair based activity class and will be supported by a training manual and equipment that can be used for classes.

We are running this in partnership with Leisure Services, Sports and Recreation and have received the funding for this from Awards for All.

We are hoping shortly to receive monies from the South East Primary Care Trust to run Complimentary Therapies in the local Health Centre, these will include Indian Head Massage and Reflexology. Patients can be referred through the GP Exercise Referral Scheme and will only pay a nominal fee of £1.00. This will be aimed at patients who have a Chronic Illness.
