GP Referrals

Lesley Lockwood is based at Darnall Community Health and York Road Medical Centre every Friday to run the local GP Referral scheme. This scheme is to enable the surgery staff to refer patients to Lesley for exercise. She will talk to the patients about their medical background and ask them to fill in a health questionnaire. She will then explain which activities are available and which ones would be suitable for them. She has recently completed the GP Exercise Referral course run by The Gayton Group, which is recommended by the NHS, National Quality Assurance Framework - Exercise Referral Systems document. This enables her to work with a variety of different patients including CHD patients.
